Upset At Obama

by Rabbi Dr. Bernhard Rosenberg

Voting or not voting for Sen. Barack Obama should have nothing to do with racism. I am supporting Sen. John McCain, not because he is white, but rather because I do not trust Obama regarding his support for Israel. I also want a president with more experience.
Obama’s recent speech in Germany was disturbing to me personally. As a child of Holocaust survivors who was born in a displaced persons camp in Germany, I thought it inappropriate that Obama apologized to Germany for actions of the United States.
As a naturalized citizen, who gave up his German citizenship, I take great pride in our country and the opportunities it affords to immigrants and refugees who have come to these shores. An ambassador to

a foreign country, representing the United States, should defend our principles and laud our accomplishments. Yes, the United States is not perfect, but compared to most other countries of the world even our imperfections cannot pale from our magnificence.
